I was all set to publish my second post about “How to Throw Your Best Party” and then I got all distracted. Because this.
Omigoodness. I’m so in love. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my mantel in the awkward Christmas-is-over-but-I’m-not-ready-for-Valentine’s-Day-yet season. I’ve collected some great winter decorations for the mantel but I needed a big statement piece. So, I got my DIY on and made one!
I had an idea of what I was going for but I didn’t have a font to pull it off. I’ve been oogling script fonts for the past year so I finally bit the bullet and got one of my very own to make this project. I snagged a gorgeous font from Creative Market called Loveletter Script and got to work. (If you’re in the market for a script font, I cannot recommend this one enough. It was SO worth the $15!)
Now I’m sharing my Eat, Drink & Be Cozy chalkboard art with you, my dear readers, for FREE because I love you. 🙂 And because it’s Friday. And because I hope you are cozy in front of your fireplaces.
To do to DIY one of your own download the FREE printable, email it to your local office supply store, and have them print it as an 18 x 24 engineer print. It should cost less than $3! Then trim the edges & hang it in whatever frame you’d like! I floated it in this window from my grandmother’s house by using a small square of double-sided tape in each corner.
I rest the whole shebang on the mantel amidst some fresh greenery and my favorite winter decorations.
Here’s where I found everything else you see:
- Wooden skis – Target One Spot
- Pine tree – Target One Spot
- Candles – Joann Fabrics
- Candle sticks – My mama
- On Mountain Time sign – My mama-in-law
- The letter “M” – My aunt
- Fresh pine & pine cones – My back yard
I hope you love it as much as I do, friends! And I hope that your winters are full of snowflakes, sunshine, and some cozy nights by the fire.
