Have a morning routine that’s a bear? Looking for a way to make getting out the door an easier, happier process? I hope this FREE printable DIY project can help you out!
Happy 2016, friends! Everywhere I look in the bloggy world there are tips and tricks to get organized in the New Year. My IG feed is filled with pretty printables and beautiful planners guaranteed to help me kick start 2016. In the spirit of organization, the Mountain house has been trying to get our ducks in a row as well. One of the areas that needed the most re-vamping was our morning routine.
If your house is anything like ours, the morning routine can be a real beast. There’s nothing like trying to get a herd of tiny people out the door for school. School has a hard deadline. None of this, “If we’re late to the play date my BFF will understand” business, amiright? The bus comes. And then the bus leaves. Inevitably something goes wrong in our morning routine to prevent us from getting to the bus on time – a forgotten bit of homework, the shirt we picked out the night before is SOOOOOOOO uncomfortable, someone’s breakfast spills on their pants – oh wait…he’s not wearing pants! You get the picture.
I did NOT want to go back to school after winter break with the weeping and gnashing of teeth that oh-so-often accompanies the morning routine so I whipped up a lil’ something to keep us on track.
My oldest is independent enough to be doing her morning routine on her own. Hallelujah! She just often needs reminders to keep her on track. We’re really hoping that this FREE printable morning routine checklist can make getting out the door easier.
Here’s what you’ll need to make one of your own:
– FISKBO 8.5″ x 11″picture frame from IKEA
– Morning Routine Checklist
– Access to a printer
– Dry erase marker
A note about the FISKBO frame – I chose this particular frame for this project for a few reasons. First, the 8.5″ x 11″ dimensions make it perfect for printer paper. Second, it was super inexpensive – $1.99! And finally, because its “glass” is actually made of durable clear plastic. Things made of glass tend to shatter in our house and I knew this checklist would take a beating. However, I had a hard time finding the FISKBO frame online. I did find this NYTTJA frame that looks similar. If you don’t have an IKEA store near you, you can find any 8.5″ x 11″ frame or re-size the PDF to suit your needs.
To get started, download and print the Morning Routine Checklist. Place it into the FISKBO frame.
After peeling off the protective coating (thanks to my big girl!), the picture frame becomes a dry erase board. Voila!
You’ve got yourself a morning routine checklist to keep your little ones on track and out the door on time!
Hope this helps start your day with a smile, friends!
